Cheryl Bowers is a writer and a photographer. She is a multi-genre writer but prefers nonfiction or poetry. Cheryl has a photography business, C Red’s Wild West Portraits, although she practices all types of photography. The writer/photographer has a Bachelor of Art degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Cheryl Bowers has received awards for her poetry and her photos have been featured in online digital magazines and online exhibits. Writer Ann Hendrix used Cheryl’s photos in her book “Horse Sense”. The writer describes her work as nonfiction fiction because she uses real people as inspiration and characterization but creates fictional plots and/or settings to create the short stories she writes. Her poetry is created from emotion and can make you laugh or make you cry. Cheryl is an asset to the literary and visual art community because of her unique perspective of the world.
From athlete to artists and photographer to felon, Cheryl Bowers has worn many hats in her lifetime. Bartender, landscaper, carpenter, are just a few of the occupations Cheryl has learned well during her life. Cheryl is also a mother and grandmother. Her quest for knowledge and her capacity for empathy and understanding is what makes her perspective unique. The writer/photographer also has the capacity for making mistakes, which she was sentenced to the Texas Department of Corrections (penitentiary) for three years because of those mistakes. During COVID Cheryl made a positive choice to continue her education and enrolled in SNHU’s online programs. She is currently working on her first book.

Cheryl lets her audience see the world as she does through her photography and allows them to feel her emotions through her writing. The womans work is compelling and sends messages of kindness, gratitude, understanding and self-worth. Cheryl believes you can have an impact on a person with a simple smile. It is her mission to make the world a better place with one small act of kindness every day and to be a positive force in world of negativity. Cheryl’s works resonates with a wide range of audiences as she shares her journey through lens and pen.
